Roscoe was founded in April 1883 by Charles P. Morgan and Joseph W. Parmley. Roscoe was named after Roscoe Conkling, a good friend to Morgan's father Allen Denison Morgan.
The City of Roscoe is governed by a five-member board of Trustees. These members are:

Roscoe is home to the Edmunds Central School District, combining Roscoe and Hosmer together for teaching. It is home to many businesses and amazing residents.
